Thankful for Drew and tile floors.

So we adopted this sweet puppy in June and we love her.... Most of the time.
Heres the deal. When we were deciding to buy a new home that meant that we were saving up and weren't spending a lot doing fun activities with our daughter as we normally would. So during that time a promise (by my husband) was made to our daughter that if and when we bought our first home we would buy her 2 (!!!!!) puppies. We found the home of our dreams in March, actually before then but it was a loooooooong process. So right away we started looking on adoptapet.com and looking at our local adoption center, Pet Rescue By Judy. Like i said, in June we went in and saw this adorable litter of puppies that were all labled with rock band names! Ours was originally Queen. we only brought home one puppy. :)We named her Drew after my very favorite actress (and all round great person), Drew Barrymore.

This is Drew. Adorable right?!

Well, either our first dog was an absolute angel, which no one is truly denying, or we (I) had forgotten about puppyhood. This Dog. First, let me just say i super love her. Im glad shes in our family but i am so thankful for tile floors, Lysol, paper towels, chew toys and that God gave me all the patience i need to handle her. She is not the brightest crayon in the box if you know what i mean. She eats anything and everything in her path, and i am not exaggerating. Rocks, sticks, mulch, paper, socks, shoes, coins, dirt, bugs.. I could go on. If its on her level, its already in her mouth. She has been here since June and the little lady still isnt quite sure how to get outside in time. .Im sleepy just typing about this. ha! Even though Drew, isnt all that bright, we love her and would do all of this all over again. and we do, like every 30 minutes (telling her to go outside....... )

Wisdom teeth.

I dislike very much, the dentist.

DISLIKE.

I had been avoiding it for several years. I could no longer put it off the other day when i could barely eat. My wisdom teeth are all impacted but the bottom left one was the worst. I sucked it up, asked my facebook friends for recommendations to local dentists and made and appointment. The dentist was very kind, very easy, and didn't choke me with 4 hundred tools shoved down my throat like i had remembered as a kid. He did, however, recommend that i see and oral surgeon to get my wisdom teeth out.

As you can see from this *lovely* x-ray, my bottom two wisdoms came in sideways and were pressing on the sides of the teeth in front of them. The bottom left however was so impacted it was forming cysts around the tooth causing excruciating pain and discomfort. The oral surgeon suggested i get all four ~tops and bottoms~ out ASAP. that was not an option for me. I opted to have only the two on the left side extracted first and then i will go back in a few months and get the other side taken out.  That way, or so i thought, i could still eat on one side.

So, Tuesday i went in and had the left side removed, top and bottom. The first day i thought it wasnt so bad. the second day, i was uncomfortable, drugged and loopy but still alright. Well, the nurse had said i would feel the worst come Thursday.... That is today. She wasn't kidding. Ouch. Double ouch.  Im still drugged but the drugs aren't touching it. They don't even last the "every 4-6 hours as needed".

On the bright side, our family and friends are amazing. We have had so many meals brought our way. My mom did our laundry, took care of the baby i sit for, let my dogs out, and did our dishes. My husband has been Mr. Mom taking over the homework situations with our daughter, cleaning up, and caring for me. Taking care of me is the hardest, I think. I am the biggest baby, I try not to be but man, this pain is no joke. I think the drugged feeling is actually worse than the pain.  I feel loopy, weak and helpless. So i am entirely thankful for all the help.

Are we "friends" or Friends?

The thing i hate most about Facebook is that you have a false sense of who your real friends are. On Fb i have 427 friends.. I find it odd considering in real life, i can really count on two hands who my  REAL friends are. Who are all these other people ? Where did they come from?

The past mainly. Some are friends/family that live far away (and are the ONLY reason im still on there, to be honest), and of course parents and contacts from my daughters school.
Lately i have been feeling like the butt of peoples jokes, the fool that believes people might actually value my friendship. Silly me.
I have noticed that recently it seems that some moms are turning into those Mean Girls from middle school. Where, if you aren't wearing the right thing, parenting their way, driving the right car, or apart of the PTA you are NOTHING.
I have 2 best friends. They love me. I don't need to list why i think that because they make me feel that i am. No excuses. No judgements, just love. Other than those two awesome and amazing friends, i have my husband, and thank God that i do. I dont know how i would get past all these catty women with out them. They are my sounding boards, my therapists, my attitude adjusters, my Kleenex holders, my givers of honesty.

I have been debating if all this drama i am around is worth it. I HATE the word "unfriend". I loathe the song, "Unfriend You" by that whiney kid on the Disney Channel. But when is enough enough. What would someone have to do to get unfriended.. How am i showing them the love of God if i wont be their friend. Im supposed to love not hate.

My daughter is 9. We have already had to deal with mean girls, drama, and that you dont have to be friends with everyone but you do have to be nice to everyone. Why cant i learn that lesson for my self? why is it that i NEED to be liked. Why am i not secure enough to care whether i am liked or not.

Well heres what i have come up with. I love people. I love relationships. i love REAL relationships. i love quality time and quantity time. I dont care who you are, who you love, what you wear, what kind of car you drive, how rich you are, how poor you are, how many kids you have. I care that you are capable of loving me. I care that you treat me with kindness and compassion. I care that you value my time and friendship and not because if what you will get out of this relationship. I dont have alot to give. but i have time and i have compassion . Do you need that kind of friend?

if you do, we can be friends.

Well, Hey!

So, I decided to start this little blog because I am not fond of the facebook world anymore. Maybe I am growing up (eek!) or maybe I want more control over what is said and done with my photos and privacy. Either way, here we are!
I have no idea how to start a blog or what to actually write about so this ought to be fun! Maybe I will share recipes, or talk about my adorable kid, or my super-awesome husband, or about things that are bothering me! Watch out now!
We will see how it goes. I have never been very good with keeping a journal. I wasn't a girl who had a secret diary growing up. But I feel like if I can log on to facebook everyday, have something silly, sad, or exciting to announce then I can have a blog, right?!

HERE WE GO!
